A Charity Navigator–rated nonprofit delivering nutritious meals to homebound seniors across Riverside, California.
Riverside Meals On Wheels Inc. is a community-focused nonprofit delivering nutritious meals directly to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities in the Riverside, CA area. Led by Executive Director Alex Arana and Operations Manager Allison Glover, the small staff team coordinates volunteer drivers, donor campaigns, and grant-funded service programs — including the “Together Serving Smiles” community partnership.
For a nonprofit where every staff hour goes back into the mission, technology overhead has to be invisible. RMOW came to Soaring Towers in January 2023 looking for a single partner that could handle managed IT, identity, networking, security, and the mission-critical website that drives meal applications, volunteer sign-ups, and donations.
A mission-driven nonprofit running on aging infrastructure and a fragmented website — with no IT bandwidth to fix it.
Devices on local accounts with no MDM, aging networking gear without static IP, a website grown organically over the years on a legacy theme, and email deliverability problems hitting donor campaigns — the same pattern we see across most small nonprofits before they engage a single managed IT and web partner.
-
No centralized device managementWorkstations on local accounts with no MDM, no Azure AD join, and no central policy — every device managed in isolation, every change a manual touch.
-
Aging, unmanaged networkingLegacy router and switch with no static IP and recurring WAN disconnections — the kind of infrastructure that quietly degrades until staff start complaining.
-
Mission-critical website held together by legacy pluginsAn aging theme, unused WooCommerce and Charitable plugins causing PHP conflicts, no staging environment, and form-routing rules that didn’t reliably reach the right inboxes.
-
Email deliverability & security gapsConstant Contact donor campaigns failing for missing DKIM, excessive spam in staff inboxes, and phishing exposure across a team that didn’t yet have awareness training in place.
A single managed IT + web partnership covering identity, networking, security, and the donation-driving website.
Soaring Towers became RMOW’s end-to-end technology partner — helpdesk, identity, networking, security, and ongoing website management. The four pillars below replaced the patchwork that was slowing the nonprofit down.
Today’s small nonprofits need IT that’s as mission-aligned as the staff.
Every staff hour a nonprofit spends troubleshooting devices, rebuilding websites, or chasing email problems is one less hour spent on the mission — whether that’s meal delivery, donor outreach, or volunteer coordination.
At Soaring Towers, we specialize in managed IT plus mission-critical web operations for small nonprofits — one partner across helpdesk, identity, networking, security, and the website that drives donations and applications.
Four foundations of a modern nonprofit IT environment.
Every layer below was selected and configured specifically for the realities of a small mission-driven nonprofit — tight budget, limited staff time, donor-facing systems that can’t go down, and a website that has to keep applications and donations flowing.

uSecure phishing simulations + ConnectWise RMM
Active uSecure phishing simulations and a Phish Alert Button in Outlook training staff to flag suspicious mail, paired with ConnectWise RMM patch management and Microsoft Defender on endpoints.
- uSecure phishing simulations
- ConnectWise RMM & patching
- Email filtering + DKIM hardening
UniFi Dream Router 7 + managed switch
Aging router and switch replaced with enterprise-grade UniFi gear, with a static IP configured through Spectrum — deployed on-site in a single visit, no service interruption.

WordPress + Elementor Pro + Cloudflare
The donation-driving website rebuilt from the ground up on Hello Elementor Pro, with FlyingPress page caching, Redis object cache, Cloudflare CDN, Gravity Forms with Turnstile bot protection, and an accessibility widget.

It includes Microsoft 365 user lifecycle, identity and device management via Intune and Entra ID, networking, security awareness training, helpdesk for day-to-day issues, and full ongoing management of the donor-facing website — hosting, content updates, security, and the major refresh projects when they’re needed.
Yes. For nonprofits, the website is operational infrastructure — donations, applications, and volunteer sign-ups happen there. Combining managed IT and web operations under one partner eliminates vendor finger-pointing, simplifies billing, and means whoever picks up the phone already knows your environment.
We work through programs like TechSoup to source discounted Microsoft and Adobe licenses where eligible, right-size seat counts to actual usage, and avoid pushing enterprise SKUs your team doesn’t need. The goal is keeping every dollar pointed at the mission.
Real Microsoft 365 and identity expertise, willingness to manage your website end-to-end (not just hosting), familiarity with nonprofit licensing programs, security awareness training that actually changes behavior, and a strategic-advisor mindset that goes beyond helpdesk tickets.
