Set up MFA and Phone sign-in
Verify that you’ve registered for multifactor authentication by visiting https://aka.ms/mysecurityinfo.
- Verify that you’ve registered for multifactor authentication by visiting https://aka.ms/mysecurityinfo
- Select Add sign-in method.
- Select Authenticator app from the drop-down menu, then select Add
- Download the Authenticator app, then select Next.
- Download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app:
- Visit the Apple app store or Google play store on your device and install the Microsoft Authenticator app. Alternatively, visit aka.ms/authapp and download the Microsoft Authenticator app
- Download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app:
- On your phone, allow notifications (if prompted), then select Add account.
- Select Work or school account.
- Select Scan QR code.
- On your computer, select Next.
- With your phone, scan the QR code displayed on your computer, then select Next.
- Microsoft Authenticator is now available as a sign-in method. When prompted with the screen below, select Continue.
- Select Finish.
Congratulations! You’re now set up to log in with your phone.

When signing in, you will get a notification on your phone to enter the number you see on your screen. It will look like this:
